Why Admitting Belief May Not Be a Good Idea
The controversial topic of UFOs and extraterrestrials has been widely criticized, debated & publicized throughout the years. Individuals reporting UFO sightings, encounters and alien abductions have been labeled crazy, whack jobs, attention seekers & the list goes on. While many of these cases can be debunked, one can believe that the majority of them deserve validation; & rightfully so.
As a child growing up, I often wondered if aliens really existed. I remember staying up late sometimes spending hours gazing into the dark sky hoping to see something unusual. I know; wishful thinking right, but being that young and naive, I truly believed in the possibilities.
Then, some movies depicting extraterrestrials were becoming popular like E.T. - The Extraterrestrial, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Contact. These three movies really intrigued and resonated with me. I think everyone has at least heard of these, if not seen them at some point in their lives. When Contact was released in the late 1997, I believe it was accurately portrayed as something that could really happen. Jodie Foster played the film’s protagonist, Dr. Eleanor “Ellie” Arroway, a Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) scientist who finds strong evidence of extraterrestrial life and is chosen to make first contact. I won’t get into all the details, however, its a MUST see if you haven’t seen it or the two others mentioned above. Five years prior to the debut of Contact, I had a a personal experience; which I will share in a blog.
Fear of the Unknown Is Natural
Aliens or extraterrestrials have been described to the public as little green or gray humanoid figures with huge heads, large eyes and hands. We as human beings fear things that are unknown; which is only natural. Seeing those images will naturally cause fear and having an encounter with an unknown being is definitely a cause for concern.
There are over 50 billion planets in our galaxy alone; 10 billion of those may be capable of supporting life. That’s a lot of planets out there to be the only intelligent race to only inhabit the Earth. Try to keep an open mind and look at from this perspective. God is all powerful; the Supreme Being, makes all things and keeps them in existence. That being said, with all those planets in our solar system, it is reasonable to believe that we are not the only intelligent race existing in the entire universe.
Still there are those who want to see verifiable proof If asked what proof I have, my reply will be simple; conventional wisdom confirms my beliefs.
